Quiet Please!

Remember that building people used to go to that was filled with things called "books"? You couldn't talk in there, but you could sit and read in peace and quiet for hours on end. I think it was called a library and they had mean old ladies that would "shush" you and whisper loudly, "Quiet please!" Okay, that was being stereotypical... I actually know a few librarians and I love them.

Now everything is digital and downloadable. You can get almost any book you want from your phone. But libraries are known as a quiet place. We all need a lot more of that in our lives. I find that especially true out here in the big city with all the noisy traffic and the hustle and bustle that comes with it.

There is a lot of wisdom in finding time each day to be still and withdraw to a place of solitude. It's those places that God can speak to you because you have the ability to listen. His voice is not drowned out by the world around you. Where is your quiet place? If you don't have one, find one!

Luke 5:16 (NLT) - "But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer."
