Don’t Be Afraid

There are so many things to cause fear, worry, and anxiety to rise up inside me. If I were to dwell on current events and allow those thoughts to dominate my mind I could potentially be overwhelmed by them. I have to put that all aside and focus on the many blessings I have and the promises of God contained in his Word. It takes faith and trust to live a peaceful and contented life in the midst of chaos and turmoil.

I have a mindset that there are more reasons to stay upbeat and optimistic about my life and future than reasons to fret and fear. Do I have moments of stress or anxiety? Absolutely! Sometimes attacks come at me in waves and I react just like anyone else. That is when I fall to my knees and pray. Maybe the circumstances don’t change right away but a peace from God comes over me. He sustains me through it all.

God knows when you are afraid and he is waiting to give you peace and comfort. He wants to hold you and protect you and provide for you. Take comfort in the fact that you have a Father who loves you and will never leave you or forsake you. Don’t be afraid!

Psalms 56:3 (NLT) - “But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.”
