Life in Pictures

My wife and I were discussing my father’s refrigerator and trying to figure out how old it is. She says my parents had it when we met in 1978, so it’s at least that old. It is loaded with photographs of their kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and friends… all people that she loved and adored.

There are even some pictures of people I don’t even know on there. Chances are if you gave my mother a picture she stuck it on her refrigerator. The key word here is stuck. Some are applied with double-stick tape, some with magnets, and others are even glued on. They are located on both doors and two sides. I have no idea how to save them when that refrigerator inevitably dies. We’ll probably have to take pictures of the pictures!

The memories and people captured on that refrigerator collage are priceless and precious. God looks at us that way. I’m sure if He had a refrigerator it would have our pictures proudly displayed on it. Just as my mother loved and adored her family and friends with all of her heart, our Heavenly Father loves and adores us. Our photo is glued to His refrigerator so that it cannot be removed!

1 John 4:16 (NLT) - “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”
