Northbound

As our wonderful time in Texas draws to a close, we head north to Arkansas. That is where my roots are and where a lot of my family is located. Two of my three children live right there in my small home town. My father, one of my brothers, a number of nieces and nephews, and quite a few friends still live there. It may be considered by some as humble, but I will always call it home.

Small town life has always held its appeal to me. Everyone knows everybody, which means everyone knows everybody’s business, which may also be a negative. There is still the southern charm and the friendly smiles and the welcoming waves as you pass by. Be kind and friendly and you’ll get it in return. The pace is much slower, which is just fine by me!

So as we hit the road this morning and head north, say a prayer for our safe journey. See ya later Texas and hello Arkansas! One of your native sons is returning home!

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) - “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
