I'm Going to France!

Okay... I'm not really going to France, but I had to list something on my passport renewal application. My old passport is about to expire and I just wanted to renew it so I would have a current passport ready to go for our next trip. Why do they require you to list the country you are going to visit? We don't have any current travel plans. I even had to list the date. I hope the State Department doesn't force me to go to France in August now!

Another thing... I have a second copy of my photo from my old passport so I thought I would save myself the hassle of going somewhere to get a new photo. Surely I haven't changed enough in ten years to make a difference. WRONG! Oh me oh my! I was only fooling myself with that thought. And fast-forward seven or eight years from now if I tried to use the new passport with the 17-year old photo... I would end up in a foreign prison!

I have my new passport photo now. You'll  have to take my word for it, but I think I look more "distinguished" now than I did ten years ago. I haven't packed my bags yet, but I'm ready to go to France!
