Finish Your Chores!

Remember those dreaded words when you were a kid? All your friends were out playing and you were so anxious to go outside and join them. You knew that you had to finish your chores before you would get permission to go outside and play. If you didn't do the job right or tried to sneak out, you would be able to play, but you would get caught sooner or later.

The thought of the future consequences would be continually in the back of your mind as you played with your friends. It would never be a good idea to play without your parents' blessing or permission and the dreaded penalties would ruin the playtime anyway. So you were always left with the choice of obedience now with a future expectation of fun or disobedience now with temporary joy, followed by the certainty of punishment.

What has God assigned to you? What is his will for your life? He's given you gifts and talents to use for his glory. You have a purpose and a commission. Stay in obedience to God and do the things he has told you to do. Finish your chores!

Mark 16:15 (NLT) - And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone."
