Coffee Grinds

Do you ever get to the bottom of a coffee cup and and take in a few coffee grounds that somehow got past the filter in the brewing process? I don’t know about your reaction, but that’s a terrible end to an otherwise wonderful cup of coffee for me. If I’m outside, I just might go around spitting them out because I cannot stand to swallow them or feel them on my tongue!

Sin is a lot like those coffee grinds. If we don’t filter it out of our lives, we may live what appears to be a pure, holy life on the surface, but eventually the dregs come to the surface and the bitterness of unrepented sin sinks in. All the aroma and freshness may be on the surface, but what lies deep within determines the true purity of our lives.

Let God be the filter and remove the impurity from your heart and live a life of holiness and purity. Let your life be a sacrifice of praise to him!

2 Peter 3:14 (TPT) - “So, my beloved friends, with all that you have to look forward to, may you be eager to be found living pure lives when you come into his presence, without blemish and filled with peace.”
