Our pastor says often that every Sunday is Super Sunday, not just today. I get his point and I love that! I am a huge sports fan and I have never missed watching any of the Super Bowls (even the ones my Cowboys have not been in). Some are more exciting than others, but they are all fun because of the atmosphere, the game itself, and even many of the hilarious commercials. We gather with friends and make a party out of it and have a great time watching the big game.
But just as my pastor says, every Sunday is Super Sunday. We should get more excited about worshiping God and hearing his Word preached every week than a game that is played once a year and will be meaningless as soon as it is over. Everything about God is eternal and means something for your entire life… and it is exciting! It is the Good News! He even tells us to spread it around wherever we go.
Today really is an extra Super Sunday though. We have the opportunity to go to church in the morning, have a Super Sunday Service and then watch the Super Bowl in the afternoon with our Super Friends! Isn’t that Super?!
