Does God sometimes seem far away from you? Although he will never force himself upon you, he is always right here for you. We tend to push him away or keep him at arm’s distance, hoping that he’s close enough when we need or want him, but not too close to get into our business when we’re doing “those” things that we like to do but maybe shouldn’t be doing.
The Bible tells us to draw near to God and he will draw near to us. You can’t become close to someone you don’t have relationship with and communication with on a regular basis. My wife and I have been married for almost 40 years now and we have the deepest love for each other. She is my most treasured and closest friend in the world. Did we become close by keeping each other at a distance? No! We kept close to one another and our relationship and love grew from that closeness.
If you want a close personal relationship with God, then draw close to him. Pray to him, worship him, and give thanks to him daily. He always be there for you and will never leave you nor forsake you!
James 4:8 (NLT) - “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.”
