Two days after changing over to Daylight Savings Time is not the right time to forget to set your alarm clock! Fortunately for me, I only woke up four minutes after my alarm should have gone off. I was all cozy and comfortable in my bed and I’m certain that my internal clock made me stir. It’s always a shock to the system when the realization sets in that you are running late and trying to figure out what happened, what day it is, and who or what to blame for this mistake.
It would have been great to stay within the comfort of my bed and get more sleep and rest, but I had to get up and go to work. What is it about comfort that is so appealing? Even the word sounds inviting! When I’m wrapped up with my pillow and blankets I feel warm and secure. In much the same way, God comforts me when I am going through hard times. He wraps me in his arms and makes me feel warm and secure.
Have you been comforted? Then be a comfort to someone else when they need it. Use your experience to bring comfort to others. Allow God to use you as a source of love, peace, joy, and comfort to those in need.
2 Corinthians 1:4 (NLT) - “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
