Simple Pleasures

One of my precious granddaughters was taking a bubble bath yesterday. She decided that if a little bit of the bubble bath could make bubbles then a lot would make a whole lot more, so she emptied the whole bottle into her bath. The results were quite hilarious as the pics her mother posted on Facebook proved. She is sitting in the middle of the tub with nothing but her face sticking out from the bubbles and a huge grin, showing the world how proud she is of her bubbly creation!

Now I am certain that it is a waste of money as well as clean-up time, that her mother did not need, but she saw the hilarity and joy of the moment that it brought her two children… yes, big brother had to enjoy it too! Sometimes it is the simplest pleasures in life that can bring the most joy and we need to relish those moments. God so often brings those to us through our children and grandchildren. Jesus even used little children as examples of what we need to be like when he explained Kingdom principles!

Matthew 18:2-6 (NLT) - Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me. But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
