Happy 243rd Birthday USMC

I would like to extend a very happy 243rd birthday to all of my fellow United States Marines. Once a Marine, always a Marine! Not as lean, not as mean, but still a United States Marine! Semper Fidelis, or Semper Fi… always faithful! Those are some of the things you’ll hear former Marines say, including a few grunts and high fives and fist or chest bumps.

I served for over 12 years from 1979 to 1991 and I would not trade that experience for the world. I stand in support of all my fellow Marines past, present, and future. To this day, I still stand at attention and my eyes water when I hear the Marines Hymn. The National Anthem and presentation of the colors makes my heart swell with pride and I think of all the sacrifice that came with forming and maintaining this great democracy.

Each and every day I give honor to the one who made the greatest sacrifice of all. God sent his one and only Son as a sacrifice for our sins. Now he sits at the right hand of God the Father to intercede on our behalf. Honor him by receiving him as your Lord and Savior. Let today be your re-birth day so we can say “Happy birthday” to you!

Psalms 57:10 (NLT) - “For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.”
