Well, we made it through all the pre and post and actual Black Friday sales. This past weekend we were bombarded with post Black Friday ads and sales, along with pre-Cyber Monday ads and sales. Today is Cyber Monday and I’m sure the next few days will be filled with post-Cyber Monday specials and last chance deals… soon to be followed by all of the usual Christmas specials.
You never have to worry about getting good deals on all of the marked up and hyped up offers out there. Companies are practically giving away their merchandise for all of the things that you just cannot live without! My email volume has grown exponentially over the past couple of weeks and swelled to an enormous size.
The truth is, as annoying as all of the advertising is, there really are some fantastic deals out there. You have to do your research to find out what the best ones are and make informed decisions on how to spend your money wisely and take the best offer and avoid the counterfeit ones.
In our spiritual life, there are a lot of “salesmen” out there, too… false teachers that will try to sell you their version of the truth and deceive you into following them instead of Christ. They lure people away from him through lies and twisting of scriptures to sell a different brand of “religion” that is not even close to the Gospel. Society, morals, and values may change, but Jesus never does. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change with the blowing of the wind or shifting of the tide.
We celebrate his birth at Christmas and his death and resurrection at Easter, but he is to be worshiped and praised at all times. There are no Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals to be made when it comes to the condition of your soul. Every day is a special day to receive him and follow him. Don’t wait for Christmas or Easter to become a follower of Jesus!
