I’m sure by now all the children have jumped into their parents’ bed and announced that it’s Christmas morning and time to see if Santa came and open presents. It’s such a joyful time and there is always so much excitement in the air. It brings back such wonderful memories from my childhood and from raising my children. Our nest is empty now and our house was eerily quiet this morning, but the memories are loud and clear.
My thoughts go immediately to those who are not able to celebrate Christmas because of the many possible reasons out there. Some cannot afford it, some are alone and have no one to celebrate it with, whether through the loss of loved ones or just being single, and some are just simply Grinches. Whatever your reason, I pray that you find joy and comfort in some way today. If you know Jesus, the real purpose for this season, then you have plenty to celebrate. If you don’t yet know him, it’s the perfect day to accept him into your heart and join the family.
Wherever you are today, whether it’s with family or alone, pause and take extra time to thank God for sending his Son into this world to save us. He truly does bring joy to the world. He is the Prince of Peace, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Enjoy this special day and celebrate it. Have the merriest of Christmases and the happiest of New Years. May God bless you abundantly now and in the year to come!
