I don’t know about you, but I love the description of Jesus as being full of unfailing love. That is the most wonderful concept ever. It is something that we, as humans, are incapable of. We will always fail each other, usually not intentionally. We will tell our significant others that we will never fail them and have every intention of carrying out that promise, but we will always mess up.
And guess what… they will fail us as well. Jesus is the only one who can love us without fail. That is okay! Just as long as we are sincerely trying not to fail in loving each other. What does unfailing love look like?
It may look like different things to different people. But Jesus gave his perfect life for all of us imperfect people. He, who never sinned, sacrifice himself for us, who always sin, so that we could have eternal life. He paid the penalty of sin, which is death and eternal damnation. That is unfailing love.
He tells us in 1 John 4:7 to continue to love one another because love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. Get to know God and become more and more like him. Experience his unfailing love for you!
John 1:14 (NLT) - “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.”
