Albert Hammond’s lyrics to “It Never Rains In Southern California” will have to be changed now. It rained all last night and it is still raining today! I suppose “It Rarely Rains In Southern California” would fit, but it takes away from the intent of the artist and I am certain Mr. Hammond did not mean that it literally never rains here. In fact, the chorus begins with “Seems it never rains” and drops the word “seems” on the third line of the chorus.
Our life may be like that. We may go from saying “Seems like nothing good ever comes my way” to “Nothing good ever comes my way.” Of course, neither is true… it just seems that way. And the less stuff that comes your way, the more it seems that nothing comes your way. But, take heart! Because, if you have Jesus, then everything has come your way!
