Living in the Moment

Do you have future plans that you're excited about and eagerly awaiting to come to fruition? I certainly do and I can't wait for that day to arrive... whenever it is!

Don't forget to live in the moment though. I'm often so focused on the future that I forget about the present and miss out on the very things that are right in front of me... here and now.

This reminds me of my Marine Corps days when we would receive orders to transfer to a new duty station. It was hard not to emotionally "check out" months before we moved as a subconscious way to deal with detaching from close friends. We were unknowingly robbing ourselves of joy during those precious days before our departure.

Cherish each and every moment as you eagerly anticipate the road that lies ahead. Stay focused on the present as you prepare for the future!
