Why, Lord?!

Do you know people that blame God for what they are going through? I do! I know people like that because I have been one of those people plenty of times. I may not realize it at the time, but in the midst of trials and tribulations, I have occasionally asked the Lord, "Why?" It is only after sincere self-reflection and many prayers that I realize that I am the chief cause of why I am going through a particular hardship.

God always uses the hard times to build up my faith, teach me, strengthen me, and encourage others as they go through similar trials. But he does not cause the difficulties and pain. Those are battles of my own making. He has a perfect plan for our lives and the path we should take, but he gives us a choice to choose his way or not. I often do not!

My heart chooses to take the straight and narrow road that God wants me to take. My head often turns and takes me off the path and into trouble. Lord, help me follow my heart!

Proverbs 19:3 (NLT) - "People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the LORD."
