I love to sit and observe little children when they are sitting around playing. Have you ever noticed when they do something right how they will look over at you to see if you noticed? We all want people to see us when we are performing well.
Conversely, we do not make eye contact when we do something wrong. We don't want people to catch us in an inappropriate act. It is natural to avoid being seen when we are breaking rules or anything that is contrary to what is expected from our superiors.
It is a pleasant thing to know that the eyes of the Lord are upon us. It is comforting to know that he is watching over us and desires to hear from us. On the other hand, it makes us feel ashamed when we are willfully sinning, knowing full-well that he sees us. We try to hide ourselves in the darkness and turn away, even though he still sees us.
Always be keenly aware that, no matter what you are doing or where you are, God sees you and hears you, and knows your every thought. He loves you and cares for you. Turn to him and let him be the desire of your heart and meet your every need!
1 Peter 3:12 (NLT) - "The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil."
