If you are like me, you like to be in control of your long weekends and your schedule. I had plans and ideas and a vision in my head for how this weekend would go. It was to be a busy weekend getting many things accomplished toward listing our rental house for sale. It also included a fun Friday evening church event and a Saturday evening birthday party for a friend.
Then Friday morning as I started my first task, with a positive attitude and a spring in my step, I discovered a wet spot in the carpet in one of the bedrooms of our primary residence! Guess where all of my time and energy has gone all the way up to this moment as I wait for the plumber to arrive. I wish I could say that my attitude has remained positive and I still had that spring in my step.
Thankfully, I have a wife that keeps reminding me that God will work all of this out for our good and he will restore to us what has been lost. Yes, brand new laminate flooring will have to be replaced in some areas, but old carpeting will be replaced by new flooring. As I write this, we still do not know the source of the leak, but I am convinced that God will somehow use this to our good.
It is a setback to be sure, but I will continue to trust God and have faith that this will all work out and we will be back on track. I will share the rest of the story when he completes it!
