Who Is Your Best Friend?

Is it your dog? Not mine… I don’t have a dog. I’ve had them before, but they were never my best friend, even though they’re given the title of “man’s best friend”. I suppose a best friend is determined by many different factors and it could be different for each of us. I think we all could agree that a best friend is someone you can confide in and trust with all of your secrets. They are the one that you go to first with all of your troubles and fears. They will lift you up and never let you down.

My wife has always been my best friend. I love every moment we are together and I hate to be away from her. She delights my heart and completes me. She knows me better than anyone else in the world and understands me when no one else does. She always has my back and supports me in more ways than I can name. I have other friends that I love dearly, but none can compare with my wife of over 40 years!

Okay, who can blame me for writing this? She has been away for a long time working hard on our potential future home and I really miss my best friend!

Ephesians 5:25 (AMP) - “Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her.”
