So, if you say “lean on me” to me… I might actually lean on you! After limping around for almost a week now, I finally received the news that last Saturday, I received a partial tear in the anterior cruciate ligament (acl) of my right knee during my misstep from the ladder to the retaining wall. Today, I am wearing a knee brace and walking with crutches or a cane.
One of the joys of Christianity is having family that we can lean on. We do not have to go through anything alone. We have others around us to hold us up and keep us steady so that we will not fall. It only requires two things… you have to be in fellowship and make your need known. Be willing to be transparent enough to allow others to know that you have a need.
When you are healthy, be willing to hold others up and provide support to them. Allow others to lean on you. This is how the body of Christ should work so that no one is left unsupported and hurting. Let us love one another for this is the will of God!
Exodus 17:12 (NLT) - “Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset.”
