Anticipation

Every time we’re apart and my wife is traveling back home, I love the anticipation of her return. Even though we have only been geographically separated for a little over a week this time, I don’t like having the miles between us. She is driving home, so each state she is closer to home makes me feel that much better. I don’t fear for her safety, I just long for her presence. This comes from almost 40 years of close relationship.

It should be the same thing with Christ’s return. We should be eagerly and anxiously awaiting his return. In this case, we don’t know the day or the hour of his return, but we need to be prepared. We should long for his presence in our lives and live each day as if it is the day of his return. If you live in close relationship with him, you will wake up each day wanting to spend more time with him!

Psalms 27:14 (NLT) - “Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.”
