When a prayer is answered and a burden is lifted, it takes a load you have been carrying off your shoulders. There may be others you are carrying, but one less load makes the overall burden easier to carry. But the other thing it does for you is that it builds your faith and allows you to cast your other cares on God, knowing that if he can answer one prayer, then he can answer others.
God does answer prayer and he will take your burdens from you. So often, we want the answers before we give him our burdens. Part of the relief of the burdens is in the giving of them to the Father. Your load is nothing for him to carry. He wants your trust in him and we find that hard to give. We will often carry our burdens for a long time before we decide to let him have them.
So don’t be like me… give all your burdens to God now. Don’t carry them around and load yourself down when you can give them to the Father and place your trust in him. He cares for you!
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) - “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
