We have been weeding out a lot of junk that we’ve been hanging on to for years. This whole process of preparing for a move after living in one place for so long is very stressful and takes up most of our spare time, especially my wife’s. As i think about the physical weeding out process, I realize that I need to weed out a lot of things in my heart and mind as well.
So much is weighing on my mind and occupying my brain that I feel like I’m overwhelmed most of the time. I really need to let go of the trivial things that really don’t matter and focus on what really matters. Instead of worrying about all the minutia, I need to give it over to God and let him carry my burden. My heart knows that he will see us through this transition, but I need to convince my head of this.
God is the lifter of burdens and he cares about every detail of our lives. His arms are open wide to hold you and receive you, to bring you comfort and joy in the midst of any situation. So, in all your busyness, don’t forget to reach up to the Father and let him lift you out of the turmoil and bring you peace. Weed out the negative, overwhelming thoughts and be filled with peace.
1 Peter 5 (NLT) - “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
