Savior is not just a simple adjective or nickname of Jesus. He really is the Savior of the world! What is he saving us from? He is saving us from our sins and the death and eternal damnation that we all deserve. He took our place and bore our sins so that we could be saved. All we have to do is believe he did that, believe in him, accept him into our hearts, repent of our sins, and ask for his forgiveness. Then we are saved!
It is good to remind ourselves of what our Savior did for us and thank him for that. He paid a debt he did not owe for our debt that we could never pay. What a marvelous God we serve!
