As Christians, we need to share our faith without fear or reservation. Society has made it less “acceptable” to openly share the Gospel, but we are often our worst enemy when it comes down to it. It is not my natural gifting and it does not suit my personality to talk one on one with someone I have just met and lead them to Christ. But that does not excuse me from finding ways to spread his message to those who don’t know him as their Lord and Savior.
There are many reasons we, as a whole, are not fulfilling the Great Commission as we should… fear of persecution or ridicule, lack of confidence, or even the mistaken belief that it’s the job of pastors to do that. We are all called to reach the world for Christ. He commissioned and equipped us all to reach others. Our giftings are different, which allows us to reach different people in a variety of ways. Find what works best for you and use that to fulfill your calling to bring others into the family of God. Let your light shine for him!
1 Peter 4:16 (NLT) - “But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!”
