We are all accountable to someone for what we do or fail to do. It is being responsible for your own actions. Sometimes it means admitting your mistakes. It may be a private matter or may even be very public. Who are we accountable to? The answer could be many… a boss, teacher, parent, spouse, or even the public. Ultimately, we are all accountable to God.
Sometimes we make mistakes and try to hide them from the person to whom we are accountable. We cover it up and hope it isn’t discovered. Maybe we will be successful or maybe we won’t, but we are accountable for our mistakes. With God, nothing is truly hidden from him because he knows and sees everything. He cannot be deceived and we will be held accountable.
He gives us a way to make it right though. It’s called repentance. All we have to do is confess it to him, ask for his forgiveness, and he forgives us!
Hebrews 4:13 (NLT) - “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”
