You Can Run But You Can't Hide

Did you ever mess something up and your solution was to run away from the problem rather than fix it? I always discovered that never really worked. Sooner or later it always caught up to me. When I was a child, my parents always discovered my misdeed and the punishment was worse when I didn't own up to it and admit my mistake. A lie or cover-up was worse than the misdeed!

The worse part for me was the guilt that I carried around, even if I didn't get caught, because I knew that I had done something wrong. It has always been my nature to want to do the right thing, so when I knowingly disobey a rule or someone in authority over me, it weighs me down until I make it right. That usually comes through confession of my wrong-doing and by doing what I should have done in the first place.

This is how God created us, even though our sinful nature sometimes takes over and convinces us otherwise. He always knows when we sin, but thankfully we have a Lord who loves us and forgives us and allows us to confess our sins to him over and over again. He will forgive us when we come to him and ask him to!

Hebrews 4:13 (NLT) - "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable."
