We always like to be in control of everything. It’s hard, especially for men, to let go of the reins and allow God to lead us in the direction he has planned for us. We don’t know or foresee the many sorrows that await us if we chart our own course or rebel against his direction. It’s not that we have bad ideas or are necessarily trying to do something wrong, we just don’t have the benefit of his foresight and blessing when we knowingly go against his will.
Surround yourself with his unfailing love and blessing as you step off under his guidance. You may find yourself where you want to go in the first place, but you will arrive via a different route and avoid pitfalls that God foreknew and will steer you away from. If you listen to his voice and walk in his will, he will bless your journey along the way. Let God guide you and he will walk with you!
Psalms 32:8-9 (NLT) - The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
