A Little Help From My Friends

Okay, it was a lot of help from my friends… but that’s the song title I went with! Now you old timers will have that tune stuck in your head. There are a lot worse songs I could have used to put in your head all day. Getting back to my story… I received an abundance of help from some friends last evening in loading our cargo trailer with some very heavy furniture. There were items that my wife and I could not have loaded ourselves without serious risk of injury to our bodies, the furniture, and our home.

This wonderful assistance came from friends that go to our church, which is just one of the fringe benefits of being active in church. We pray, laugh, love, and cry together as we are united in the body of Christ at our church. It is great to know that, like us yesterday, when anyone needs help with something there are others that will jump in and lend a hand. That is what true fellowship is all about.

Find a church and be active, not just on Sunday or Wednesday, but in other activities as well. You will do better than just getting by with a little help from your friends. You will live a joyful, happy, and fulfilling life!

Romans 12:13 (NLT) - “When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
