Recharge Your Batteries

A good night’s sleep always helps recharge my batteries so I can start the next day refreshed and ready to go. We can keep moving along if we don’t get a full charge, but the consequence is that we operate at less efficiency. That’s how it is with anything that runs off of batteries… the weaker the batteries become, the weaker the device that depends upon them. Flashlights are a great example because the beams are much brighter on a fully charged or new battery.

Similarly, we need our spiritual batteries recharged. Is one day a week enough for you? I don’t believe so! God wants to hear from you daily and his Word is filled with life-giving, spiritually recharging power if you will just plug into it daily! Don’t just read an obligatory chapter or verse and put your Bible away… dig into the Scripture and meditate on it. What did it say? What did it mean? What did it mean to you? Chew on it, digest it, and let it nourish you. God’s Word is powerful and it will equip you with everything you need to stay energized throughout the day. Keep your batteries fully charged!

Luke 11:28 (NLT) - Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
