You can actually be your best by putting others first. Think about that for a minute. In a world where people think, “me, me, me”, it’s time to change that around and do it Christ’s way. Be humble and think of others as better than ourselves. In other words, put the needs of others first. Treat others with kindness and compassion. This doesn’t mean that you should put yourself down. It simply means to build others up instead of tearing them down to make you feel better about yourself.
Jesus gave up his divinity to lay down his life for us and set an example for us to follow. He humbled himself in obedience to God. Because of his obedience God elevated him to the place of highest honor. Follow his example and humble yourself before God. Have the same attitude that Christ had and serve others in order to be the best that you can be.
Philippians 2:3 (NLT) - “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.”
