Trust and Obey

That’s the title of a simple, yet beautiful old hymn. It was through Adam’s disobedience that sin entered the world, but it was through Jesus’ obedience that we are made right with God. Disobedience is accompanied by guilt and separation from God as we try to hide. Our shame overwhelms us and we are fearful of his presence. When we are walking in obedience to him we love to be in his presence. We draw near to him and have no guilt or shame. We are truly happy and joyful. This is what God intends for us and how our lives are supposed to be.

Read his Word, listen to his voice, and do what he says. Trust him and obey him. You won’t regret it!

“When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way. While we do His good will, he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”

Romans 5:19 (TPT) - “One man’s disobedience opened the door for all humanity to become sinners. So also one man’s obedience opened the door for many to be made perfectly right with God and acceptable to him.”
