Mountains and Molehills

We believe that God can move mountains. Our Bible tells us this. But do we trust him to move our molehills as well? Have you ever walked through your yard and tripped over a molehill? They seem to pop up out of nowhere. They are small at first, but tend to grow in size if you ignore them and don’t eradicate the pesky little moles that dig them. In fact, they will eventually destroy your lawn and eat all your plants if you ignore them.

A mountain may seem mighty and formidable, so we can’t ignore it. You might pray long and hard for God to remove a spiritual mountain from your life. You may pour a lot of time and energy into asking him to remove that mountain. We are often so focused on the mountains that we ignore the molehills popping up around us until we begin to trip over them. Don’t ignore the molehills. Ask God to remove them as well. Nothing is too great or too small for our Lord because he cares for us.

What are the mountains in your life? Name them and ask God to move them. Then list the molehills in your life, the little things that are tripping you up and hindering your daily walk with Jesus. Name them and ask God to remove those stumbling blocks from your life. If God can move mountains, then think how easily he can flatten a molehill!

Matthew 17:20 (NLT) - “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
