Society uses the name of Jesus so casually these days. I hate it when someone uses it as a substitute for a curse word, for example, when they stub their toe or when they yell at someone in anger. His name is not one to use in vain or so cavalierly. It is the name above all names and he is the Savior of the world. He was sent into the world, not to condemn us, but to save us. He deserves the utmost respect!
Powerful things happen when two or more are gathered in the name of Jesus. He tells us that if we ask anything of the Father, in his name, that he will give it to us. There is power in his name that we cannot begin to understand or comprehend. I don’t believe we could handle it if we did! The lame walk, the blind see, and the sick are healed. There are no limits to what can be done in his name. Everyone will one day bow at the mere mention of his name.
It is time we show our Lord honor and respect by showing reverence and awe for his holy name. We serve a mighty Savior and he is deserving of our praise. “What a powerful name it is. Nothing can stand against. What a powerful name it is. The name of Jesus!” - Hillsong Worship.
Philippians 2:9-11 (MSG) - “For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father.”
