These do happen today! The Bible tells us in one scripture that, if there are any sick among you, to call the elders of the church to lay hands on them and pray for them. We did that last night for one of the precious young girls in our church. As one of the overseers (elders), I was blessed to join in, along with several of the youth and pray for her. She had a knee injury and has been hobbling around on crutches for a couple of weeks or so and has not been able to straighten it out because of the pain.
Last night after prayer, she straightened it out, stood on it, and, except for the wisdom of her parents, wanted to run and jump around on it! But with tears of joy streaming down her face, declared that she felt no pain whatsoever, and walked around the room (very fast), and was giddy with excitement. We were all in tears over this wonderful miracle and giving God the praise for answering this sweet girl’s prayers.
There were at least three scriptures at work here that I believe came together that healed her. But I was so thrilled that, along with our pastors (her parents), the overseers, and the youth that were praying, God loves us and he cares for us. Whether you receive instant healing like she did, or it comes later, or not at all like you expect, never stop praying. Give God the praise and glory in all things!
James 5:14-15 (NLT) - “Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.”
Matthew 18:2-3 (TPT) - Jesus called a little one to his side and said to them, “Learn this well: Unless you dramatically change your way of thinking and become teachable, and learn about heaven’s kingdom realm with the wide-eyed wonder of a child, you will never be able to enter in.”
Matthew 18:19-20 (NLT) - “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
