Seek the Truth

God’s Word is full of wisdom and direction for our lives. He speaks to us through it and brings words of life, health, and truth… even words of warning and correction. We should heed every word that it says and not pick out only the parts that please us. In fact, we are warned not to take away from it or add to it. His Word is Holy Spirit inspired and given to us as our daily bread.

When we take parts of the Word and twist it to say what we want it to say, with the intent to justify our own selfish actions or intentions, we are contradicting the truth of God’s Word. We are at a time when our society does not even want to hear God’s Word and even tries to suppress the spreading of the Gospel. It is popular today to encourage people to follow their own desires and their own idea of what is right or wrong, good or bad, and moral or immoral. We have rejected God’s truth and defined our own “truth”.

Our nation needs to turn back to God and seek out the truth that is found in his Word. He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is calling us to return to him. Let’s heed that call!

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NLT) - “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”
