Always Near

I remember when I was a child and I would wake up from a bad dream and lay there in the dark, scared by whatever it was that my imagination had conjured up. When I would call out to my parents, I was always comforted by the fact that they would come when I called. They were always near and heard me when I cried.

As a parent, I always listened for my children to call out and went running to their side when they did. I was always near. It gave them a sense of comfort and safety to know that their father was always near. I didn’t do it because of any obligation as a parent. I did it because I loved them enough to die for them and because I cared for them with all my heart.

God is always near and he is waiting for us to call to him. He sent his Son to die for us so that we wouldn’t have to pay the penalty for our sins. He answers when we call and responds to our needs. He knows us by our name and loves us with all of his heart. Give your heart to the God who is always near!
