It is always good military strategy to take the high ground. Uphill battles are the hardest to fight. From the high ground, you can see the enemy coming and be well prepared before the battle begins. You will know the size and strength of your foe and you will have your defensive perimeter well armed and equipped to repel the assault. As long as you have not left an opening for the enemy to sneak in and you have properly armed yourself, you will not be defeated.
The same is true in your spiritual life. God is the high ground and as long as you put him first and devote yourself to him, you will be prepared for battle. You will be spiritually in tune to see the enemy coming. Arm yourself with prayer, fellowship, and the Word. Don’t live a life of sin and allow an opening for the enemy to sneak in and defeat you. Repent of your sins, walk with God, and live a victorious life as you take the high ground!
Ephesians 6:11 (AMP) - “Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.”
