I have begun to notice that, little by little, I’m becoming the person I should have been a long time ago. I was going to beat myself up over it when I came to this realization, but then I decided to share this and we could all defend each other from ourselves! For the few of you that became who you were supposed to be early on in life please help the rest of us.
Life is a process of growing, maturing, and learning as we go. Often, we learn who we are supposed to be but run from it… or at least walk very fast! Some of the becoming is a process, I believe, that is supposed to take us a lifetime to achieve. We learn from mentors and we mentor others. This is called discipleship.
My whole point is that we should always be seeking to become the person that God created us to be, even if we think we have arrived. Guess what… you haven’t. There is always more. God has more and more for you. It’s that pursuit that keeps us healthy and growing spiritually. It is a continual process.
Philippians 3:12 (TPT) - “I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover.”
