As my heart is being pulled more and more to be closer to my children and grandchildren, it helps me to understand better the Father’s love for us. My heart is aching because I am separated from them and I cannot wait to be with them. God seeks that close relationship with us.
The difference is that we can grant him that instant relationship by devoting ourselves to prayer and fellowship with him through the reading of his Word and finding time to be alone with him. Just as l long to be with my children, God longs to be with us.
Make it your heart’s desire to spend time with God each day. You will grow in so many positive ways and your life will change for the better. You will be in a position to receive his abundant blessings as you seek after him and his will. Put God first and you will discover that your heart will long to be with him more and more as you get to know him.
Mark 12:30 (NLT) - “And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.”
