There are a lot of people, situations, and things that I pray for each day. But, as a husband, father, and grandfather, there are certain things that I pray for daily. I pray for my wife, my children, and my grandchildren. I am very specific and I pray for each of them by name. I don’t miss praying for a single one of them on any day. I pray for their physical, spiritual, and emotional health, their safety, and their futures. I cover any specific situation that I may be aware of that they are going through at any given time as well.
There are other very important people in my life that need prayer covering, too. Though I confess that I may not pray for them daily as I should, I pray for them often. These include my other family members, my pastors, close friends, and those that God has placed on my heart. I always try to remember to pray for the people that I have told, “I’ll be praying for you”. I am always serious when I tell someone that, but as I’m sure most of us do, I sometimes forget to pray.
I always pray before I go to sleep each night, but I usually pray several times during the day when I find the time in between tasks or during my commute. A daily prayer life is vital to Christian living. We must communicate with God and prayer is the way we do this. Always pray and give God priority in your life. You will be so blessed when you do!
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (AMP) - “Be unceasing and persistent in prayer.”
