Today

Today was another day I spent at home with my wife. What did we do? We worked separately together on cleaning up, sorting, packing, and getting rid of stuff. But we were together. We took a lunch break and watched one of our new favorite series together. Then we got back to work again, but this time on a shared task. Now we’re about to sit down and rest our tired bones and watch more of that series until it’s time to go to dinner with some friends.

Today is a wonderful day. It’s Saturday, and we’re together all day. I love days like this, even if it’s tiring or exhausting. I’m amazed at how hard my wife works. She does it all day every day and never complains to me about it. She knows what needs to be done and she does it. I feel guilty about going off to work during the week and leaving her to do all the stuff that she does alone. But she encourages me in my work as she does these tasks.

I’m both humbled and grateful for this greatest blessing in my life. Today was just another day of the hundreds we’ve shared together all these years. Thank you for today, Lord!

Proverbs 31:28-29 (NLT) - Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”
