I really do get excited about Fridays. It’s not so much that I don’t enjoy the work that I do, but it’s a respite from the hectic week of commuting. The main thing I love, though, is that it means I get to spend time at home with my wife. Yes… I really do love time spent with her! We don’t even have to have big plans. It’s all about being together. After all, it’s why we got married over 40 years ago.
I don’t understand people that want time apart. I get it that men need a little “guy time” and ladies need their time together on occasion, but we are truly best friends. There is no one else I would rather spend my time with. Okay, my children and grandchildren run a close second, but most of my time is invested in her, especially since my nest emptied several years ago. And… she gave me those children who, in turn, gave me those grandchildren.
So, today is Friday and, as far as I am aware, there is nothing planned ahead that will keep me from spending the weekend with the love of my life. What a happy and joyful day this is… it’s finally Friday!
