Fresh Air

My wife and I did something we haven’t done in a long time. We went for a long walk today around our neighborhood. I know, that’s not a huge accomplishment for most people, but since we haven’t done it in a long time, it was a big deal to us. I think we were inspired by all of the posts we’ve seen on Facebook of others getting out and walking in the fresh air. It felt great to get out of the house and the weather was pretty nice.

I hope that’s something we will add to our daily routine from here on out. I definitely need the exercise and it helps clear our minds and gives us an opportunity to talk without distractions. We could see the freeway off in the distance and it was strange to see just how sparse the traffic was on a normally crowded highway. We didn’t see any other walkers and only one car drove past us in our neighborhood.

Before long, this will be a distant memory, but never forgotten. We’ll be back to the busy hustle and bustle of our normal lives. Hopefully, we’ll take some lessons learned with us and new priorities instead of returning to the status quo. There are a lot of pearls of wisdom that come with going through such a time as this. Relax while you can, be at peace, and breathe in the fresh air!

2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLT) - “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
