Neither Fear Nor Doubt

We had a young female delivery driver that came to our house a couple of days ago. We could immediately see the fear in her eyes and the look on her entire face was a giveaway as well. Even her body language revealed someone who was jittery and nervous. She admitted to us that she was only working during this time because she had to provide for her family, but she didn’t want to be out because of the Coronavirus. As she jumped into her car to drive away she pleaded for us to pray for her and then she was gone.

Although she didn’t give us a chance to stop and pray, my wife and I did take time to pray together for her. This was a woman who was living in fear, forced to work by circumstances. Her emotions had gotten the best of her and she was panicked by the whole situation. I have no idea if she is a Christian, but she at least asked for prayer, so maybe she is. This was a time for her to stop and cry out to God and trust in Him to protect her from the virus and to calm her fears. He loves for us to trust in Him as we go through the storms of life.

I know what it’s like to be smacked in the face with fear or circumstances that might cause you to momentarily doubt the things you know to be true. But that is exactly why you need family, friends, and fellow believers to lift you up and cover you. You need to reach out to God, fall on your knees, and pray to the one who has all the answers. Then rise up and cling to the faith that has sustained you throughout your life. Neither fear nor doubt can overcome the love and faithfulness of our Lord!
