The world is in a panic over the spread of the Coronavirus. The stock market has taken a huge plunge as Coronavirus fears grip Wall Street. Families are frightened as they watch the value of their portfolios drop each day. The same thing happened to the stock market during the SARS virus (2003) and Zika virus (2015-2016) scares, when the market fell by over 12% each time. The scares passed, the market recovered, and hit new highs. It is highly probable that this will happen again with the Coronavirus.
There is no need to fear for a number of reasons. Firstly, you don’t actually lose anything until you sell, so I am going to ride it out. Secondly, and most importantly, I keep my trust and faith in God above government, finances, and Wall Street. Finally, worrying will not change one single thing. So, as my financial adviser likes to say, “Watch a movie, not the news.”
I have a reverent fear of only God, who alone has the power to take your life and cast your soul into hell. Fear of man or circumstances may overwhelm our emotions, but it should have no real power over us. Put your trust in God and rest in the peace that comes from knowing that He is in control. Fear nothing!
Luke 12:5 (TPT) - “The one you must fear is God, for He has both the power to take your life and the authority to cast your soul into hell. Yes, the only one you need to fear is God.”
