Do you remember the parable of the weeds that Jesus told? He said that He is the farmer who plants the good seed, which represents the people of the Kingdom. The field He planted is the world and the weeds are the people who belong to the devil, who planted the weeds among the wheat. The weeds were planted at night while everyone slept. That is how the devil works.
The church has been asleep while the devil plants evil in our midst, choking out vital spiritual nutrients that we need to grow and thrive. We have allowed the voices in Hollywood and the media to silence us through labels of intolerance, hate, and anything else to keep us inside the walls of the church. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We need to wake up and take a stand for everything that is pure, holy, and righteous.
We need to stay alert and guard against the weeds in our lives. Use God’s Word as your guide to right or wrong. Love your neighbor as yourself and pray for one another. This is how we guard ourselves against the weeds. Wake up!
