My Life in Boxes

More and more of our personal belongings are disappearing into boxes as we continue packing. Today, I suddenly came to the realization that, in spite of such a huge percentage of our goods already stashed away, we are still living normal lives. Well, not counting the whole new pandemic lifestyle thing. We’re cooking, eating, sleeping, and everything else without missing whatever is packed away.

I have to stop and think hard, “What is in all those boxes?” There must be so much that I would never miss if I never opened them on the other end. We are missing some key pieces of furniture that we could use right now, but that’s waiting for us at our destination.

I have a lot of junk in my life. Perhaps a closer, honest examination would reveal what the junk is so that I could weed it out and lighten my load. This applies in both our physical and spiritual lives. We carry many burdens that we shouldn’t. If we would just ask God to help us identify those areas that we need to clean out and be free to move forward with our lives.
